Breve biografía

Cecilia Plottier is an Economic Affairs Officer at the Unit of Investment and Corporate Strategies from the Division of Production, Productivity and Management in the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).

She holds a Master of Arts in Economics from ILADES/Georgetown University and her professional background includes positions in the government, at the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay, in academia, at the Department of Economics from Universidad Católica del Uruguay and activities as an independent consultant. Her areas of interest are fairly broad, spacing from international economics to industrial policy and sustainable development.

In her actual position she conducts economic research and policy analysis related to foreign investment and industrial dynamics, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. She is a frequent author on foreign investment and collaborates in the annual institutional publication Foreign Direct Investment in Latin America and the Caribbean (2017, 2016)
